Hi. My name is Katie and this is my blog. I started it after a cursing fit when I lost my coveted pumpkin bar recipe. I still haven't found it, so if you have it please return it safely. It had nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon in it but really, it's the cloves that made it. It wasn't quite a bar though, kind of a cross between a cake and a bar. And the frosting. OH the frosting. A lemon cream cheese bliss.
So yeah, I lost it. I'm still mad years later.
I vowed I'd never lose another recipe and decided I would start a blog. I didn't intend on followers but shared it with a few friends that were looking for recipes for this or that. Soon enough I had like 80 followers! My blog became an awesome tool for me in other ways too. Like I could go to the grocery store and look up recipes and meal plan right on the spot! Or, I could read a recipe from my phone in the kitchen, rather than cluttering my already limited counterspace with large cookbooks.
Then it sort of morphed, after having kids, into a spot to share with other parents on how to get a meal on the table fast. Not twenty TV minutes fast, but actually fast. I like to cook from scratch, but I also work full time and have a husband and two kids. I love sharing my recipes and tips with other people, and I love learning new things. And then I thought of another awesome idea. I'm just full of them (or it). How cool would it be to keep a record of all of our favorite family recipes on the blog and then when my kids are grown I'll have it turned into a book for them! I would have loooved to of recieved something like that when I moved out :) So, when I put a recipe on my blog its because we like it, not just to make a post on the blog. And every now and then I'll even go back to add some revisions to a recipe I posted before, because I really do want this to be something I can print and give to my children.
I am NOT a food photographer, so please know that all of my food tastes like 100 times better than it looks in my photos. Promise.
A funny tidbit from my blog - the most popular recipe is not my favorite one.
And that's it, the history of my blog and a little about me.
Happy cooking!
~Katie
